Finding a replacement lid for a valve box is not as easy as it seems. Different brands design their boxes with slightly different dimensions, so a lid that works for one brand may not fit another. To find the right lid, contractors would have to dig up the box to match the brand, carry excess inventory, or make trips back and forth to the distributor to get the right-sized lid.
