This nozzle is female threaded but the thread size is not 1/2''. If you are wanting to use this on top of a 1/2'' riser or pvc xxxx , then you will need to purchase a shrub adapter with the nozzle so it can fit on 1/2'' male pipe threads. PA8S is the part number for the Rain Bird Shrub Adapter.
