I see this xcore outside unit comes with a plug. Can this be converted so I can hardwire the unit?

Yes this model can be hardwired. Under the removable wiring compartment, there is a spot where you can unscrew and access the Power Cord or Pigtail Connection. From there you can remove the power cord for a hardwire installation.
